Falkirk

I spent the day in Marin after hearing Tracy Chevalier speak at the Book Passage book store in Corte Madera. I walked around downtown and stopped into a cafe to have probably the best chicken salad sandwich I have ever had. The barista talked me into having it toasted and was I ever glad. It was nothing short of incredible. Pickles! Ummmm, yum!

Trying to find a spot to park in the shade and nap, I happened upon the historical Falkirk House and it's surrounding gardens. The lush variety of plants and trees is cared for by the Marin Master Gardeners. I hiked up the open space hill a ways and sat on a fallen log to pen some poetry.

I want to eat what the earth offers.
I want to fill my belly
My soul
With Her riches freely given
And die
In Her outstretched arms.

I want to shatter in a thunder storm.
I want to feel wet
My heart
Aching to Be One with
What it knows
In it's broken bones.

And when we softly weep together,
My soul, my earth
My heart, my thunder
Will feel no more sensation
But the wind.
